How to play Bullseye

Bullseye is a daily arithmetic game built on the classic big-numbers round. You are dealt six numbers — a few big ones from 25, 50, 75 and 100, the rest small — and a three-digit target. You combine two numbers at a time with + − × ÷; both are consumed and the result becomes a new number, so any order of operations you can imagine is one you can build. Every step must stay a positive whole number, division has to come out even, and you never have to use every number. Hit the target exactly for 10 points, or settle for your closest number: within 5 pays 7 points and within 10 pays 5. Every daily is built to be exactly reachable, and when the round ends you are told the best that was possible.

How to play

  1. Six numbers and a three-digit target. Some numbers are big (25, 50, 75 or 100), the rest are small (1–10).
  2. Combine two numbers at a time: tap one, tap + − × ÷, tap another. Both are used up and the result becomes a new number you can keep working with.
  3. Every result must be a positive whole number — no fractions, no zero, no negatives. Division is only allowed when it comes out even.
  4. You don’t have to use every number. Hit the target exactly and the round ends at 10 points.
  5. Can’t get there? Settle for this scores your closest number: within 5 of the target is 7 points, within 10 is 5 points, further is 0.
  6. Undo steps back one combination at a time; Start over returns to the original six.

Tips & strategy

  • Read the target’s neighbourhood first: work out what 25, 50 or 75 times a small number lands near it, then plan to repair the difference with what is left.
  • Big numbers are for scale, small ones for precision — get within striking distance with one multiplication, then add or subtract your way in.
  • A number like 75 is also 25 × 3 or 50 + 25 in disguise. If the draw refuses one route, rebuild the big number you wish you had.
  • Division is rare but powerful: an intermediate that shares a factor with a big tile can drop you exactly where addition never will.
  • Do not chase the exact hit off a cliff. A guaranteed 7 points within five beats gambling your board away for a 10 you cannot see.
  • Undo is free and unlimited. When a line stalls two steps in, take both back rather than spending your remaining tiles rescuing it.

Accessibility

Bullseye is numbers and buttons with no colour carrying meaning and no timer. Every tile is a button that names itself ("Use 75", or "75, picked" once chosen), each operator is named in words (Plus, Minus, Times, Divided by), and the working so far is an ordinary list you can re-read step by step. Illegal moves are announced through one polite live region and never rearrange the board, every control is at least 44 pixels, and the whole round plays with a keyboard alone.
