How to play Waypoint
Waypoint gives you five city names and five lettered points on a plain world board — no map, just positions, with north up and west to the left. Your job is to place each city where you think it belongs.
How to play
- Tap a city to select it, then tap a point to place it there (or tap a point first, then a city).
- Every city and every point is used exactly once; placing a city on a taken point bumps the other one, so rearrange freely.
- Check the “Your placements” list, then Submit once all five are placed. Your score is how many you pinned exactly, plus how far off your misses were, measured as real distance on the globe.
Tips & strategy
- Anchor on the cities you know best and work outward from them.
- Think in relative positions — which city is furthest north, south, east or west — rather than exact spots.
- A near miss still scores well, so place your best guess even when you are unsure.
Accessibility
Waypoint is fully playable by touch, keyboard, or screen reader: cities and points are buttons with spoken state, and a “Your placements” text list mirrors the board so you never need to see it. Points use letters and ✓/✗ marks, not colour alone.
