How to play Recall Grid
Recall Grid is a spatial memory game. A pattern of highlighted cells appears for a few seconds, then hides, and you rebuild it from memory. You score a point for every cell you remembered, and there is no timer once you start recalling — the pressure is all in the study phase.
Or play Recall Grid Arcade, a real-time run played for a personal best.
How to play
- Press Begin study to reveal the pattern of highlighted cells.
- The pattern hides after a few seconds. Then rebuild it from memory.
- Select exactly as many cells as were highlighted. There is no timer while you recall.
- Submit to score a point per cell you remembered, and see which were correct, missed, or wrong.
- Play from the keyboard too: arrow keys move around the grid, Home and End jump to the first and last cell, and Enter or Space selects.
Tips & strategy
- Look for a shape rather than a set of cells. A remembered outline survives much better than a list of positions.
- Anchor to the corners and edges — cells with a clear reference point are the easiest to place correctly.
- Count the highlighted cells during the study phase. Knowing the number keeps you from over- or under-selecting.
- Split the grid into halves or quadrants and remember each separately.
- Place the cells you are sure of first, then reason about the rest from the shape you have already built.
Accessibility
Cells use a fill, a border, a mark, and a text label, so both the pattern and the feedback work without colour, and the grid plays fully from the keyboard.
